Wolf Day

This is a painting by Ruth Housley that I did with a wolf laying on a ledge resting and waiting.
I had photos of wolves and wanted to put one in this landscape painting.

Autumn at Lost Maples

This is a painting I did from photos I took while my husband Richard and I went to the Texas Hill Country. We went to Lost Maples State Park, Garner State Park and Enchanted Rock all in the hill country. We went to Fredericksburg one day and I visited galleries while my husband went to the Nemitz Museum. We ate lunch in Fredericksburg and then came back to Kerrville where we stayed. We went one day to Garner State Park and one day to Lost Maples State Park.

Rose from Flower Mound, TX

This is a rose we had when we lived in Flower Mound, Texas and it grew in our yard. It is a Jackson and Perkins Hybrid Tea rose and I don't remember the name of it but took several photos of it and put it on a canvas linen panel. It is an original oil painting by Ruth Housley. This is a very unique rose and very pretty.

Dahlia Flower

This is an original oil painting on a portrait canvas 11x14. My mother had some Dahlias planted in her garden as well as other flowers. She liked all kinds of flowers and I do too. I have painted several varieties of flowers and enjoy doing them.

Clematis

This is an original oil painting on portrait canvas of a Clematis flower. My brother had a Clematis plant wrapped around his light post near the driveway to his home and it was so pretty winding all around the post from top to bottom. It was a white one with lots of flowers.

The Rose of Sharon

This is an original oil painting by Ruth Housley on Portrait Canvas.
I had a photo of this flower and since it is mentioned in the Bible I wanted to paint it
and it is in the Song of Solomon.

Song of Solomon 2:1 "I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the Valleys."

Hibiscus

I had a photo of a red Hibiscus and have painted them before but not big like this one.
I love flowers of all kinds and have painted several varieties. I do get lots of compliements on my flower paintings and that is what I started doing a lot of when I first started painting in oils.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

House on the Hill

This is an original oil painting by Ruth Housley on a 12x9 canvas. I had a picture of this old house and wanted to do a landscape and use it and have it autumn since this is the season we are in now.

Psalms 24:1 "The earth is the Lords; and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwelleth therein."
