"The Portrait of Christ"

This is an original oil painting by Ruth Housley on canvas. I was inspired to do this painting since my parents had a print of the Portrait of Christ that was hanging in our home when I grew up.This one is a little different because I wanted to use red and purple in the background colors. The scriptures for this artwork is from:
Matthew 28:20 "And behold, I am with you always even until the end of the age."
John 6:35 "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never go thirsty."

  1. Hi Ruth...
I wonder how we "know" what Jesus looked like... I guess we just go on what others have portrayed him like...

I have a friend that painted a painting of Christ... she used her son as the model...

If we put our heart and love into it then I guess that is all that matters.

    Be well, Ruth!
